Rangers legend Ally McCoist has exclaimed that he loves Bellingham's 'confrontational' style of play on the field but has warned that it could get him into trouble at some point if he is not careful.

Speaking to BoyleSports, the Rangers legend said: "I don’t mind Jude Bellingham’s confrontational style, it's a wind up. Don't worry about that, that's a wind up. It's a show of aggression, but it's a wind up.

"He’s clever and he's not gonna get himself sent off, but I genuinely don't want to tempt fate because it could happen to him, but I don't think he's gonna get caught up like that and get sent off, but he's just letting somebody know that he's up for it.

"It's a kind of cheeky show of aggression, which I don't mind at all. To be honest, I quite like it."

THE BIGGER PICTURE

Bellingham has had a meteoric rise to fame since his move to Real Madrid last summer from Borussia Dortmund for a reported fee of €103m (£88m/$110m). The English midfielder made an instant impact on Los Blancos as they raced away with the La Liga title and then capped it off with a Champions League win.

WHAT NEXT FOR BELLINGHAM?

The Real Madrid star is a special player for Gareth Southgate's Three Lions as they look to bounce back after an uninspiring start to their Euro 2024 campaign in Germany. He will be in action when England take on Slovenia on June 26 in their final group-stage game.
